Overview

The Enterprise Relationship Officer is a strategic leader responsible for driving growth and engagement with business members. This position requires advanced financial expertise, the ability to develop and execute strategic plans, and the authority to make decisions critical to the success of member relationships. The role focuses on providing comprehensive banking solutions, including credit products, treasury management, deposit services, and customized financial strategies for diverse business types.

Responsibilities

Business Development and Relationship Management:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the business member portfolio, including identifying and cultivating high-value opportunities.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement in managing a portfolio of business members, making recommendations on financial solutions aligned with member goals and credit union objectives.
  • Serve as trusted advisor to business members, identifying unique financial needs and proactively delivering tailored solutions to enhance their success.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales proposals that effectively communicate the benefits of the credit union, with the goal of converting businesses into members.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for financial products and services, ensuring alignment with credit union risk parameters and member objectives.

 

Comprehensive Banking Solutions:

  • Design, recommend, and implement complex financial solutions, including credit products, treasury management services, and deposit products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to structure and present customized financial packages, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and credit union standards.
  • Use advanced knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and economic factors to guide the development of innovative financial offerings.

 

Credit and Risk Management:

  • Analyze financial statements and business data to determine appropriate financial solutions.
    Exercise authority in structuring and approving credit arrangements within established limits, collaborating with credit teams for larger transactions.
  • Monitor and manage risks within the assigned portfolio, using judgement to proactively identify and mitigate potential challenges.

 

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Act as a senior representative of the credit union at community and industry events, establishing the organization as a leader in business financial services.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to associates, sharing expertise on business financial products and relationship management strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including lending, operations, and marketing, to influence product development and member engagement strategies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Undergraduate degree in business, finance or economics preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales or business development experience, preferably in business banking, commercial lending, or treasury management, with a proven track record of managing complex business relationships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, credit structuring, and strategic account management.
  • Advanced understanding of business credit products, treasury management services, and deposit solutions.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement in developing and managing financial relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with business members.
  • Anticipates market trends and aligns solutions to meet future member needs.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong desire to create business working with referral sources.
  • Strong knowledge of credit, lending, and financial analysis principles.
  • Proven business acumen by working with lending products and Small Businesses to provide solutions and services to fit their financial needs
  • Proven ability to develop referral networks and establish long-term professional relationships.
