Overview

Position Summary

Palmetto Citizens is seeking motivated and talented college students to join our Summer 2027 Internship Program. Our internship program provides students with the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on professional experience while learning about the financial services industry and the role a credit union plays in serving its members and community.

Interns may be placed in a variety of departments based on their academic background, interests, skills, and organizational needs. Opportunities may be available across areas such as Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing, and other business functions.

Throughout the internship, students will work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to department projects and day-to-day operations, and gain exposure to the professional environment of a growing financial institution.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on the department and internship assignment and may include:

  • Assist with department projects, initiatives, research, analysis, and day-to-day operations.
  • Apply knowledge and skills gained through academic coursework to real-world business situations.
  • Conduct research, compile information, analyze data, and prepare reports or presentations.
  • Assist with process improvement, documentation, and development of department resources.
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with team members and other departments.
  • Provide administrative and operational support as assigned.
  • Learn and utilize department-specific systems, applications, tools, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with associates, leadership, members, vendors, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities throughout the internship.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a college sophomore, junior, or senior at an accredited college or university.
  • Completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of coursework related to the student's major.
  • Good academic standing.
  • Demonstrated interest in gaining professional experience related to their field of study.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
